Bubonic plague IS "black plague", so named because of one of the classic symptoms, namely the production of sub-epithelial hemmorhaging due to bacterial toxins.

Strange as it may sound, garlic and vinegar both have antibacterial properties; The pH of vinegar does destroy some baceria, which is why we "pickle" certain foods that are low in acid naturally, like cucumbers and jalapeno peppers. All peppers, actually.

Garlic has been shown to contain compounds that inhibit bacterial growth, separately and in combination.

And don't worry about mixing me up. I get sorted out pretty quickly these days. :-)
