All right, I was just able to explain the question and my response to my colleague. It took about 10 minutes and a small sketch. He suggests that the problem with the whole discussion is best resolved by asking what it is that you all think that I'm saying.
So.
Just what is it that you all hear me saying?
[Then I'll be able to better phrase my response to DAM's challenge as to how one might explain light that looks 6 bn. years old.]
