Re: Mirror matter mystery (Mike Kremer)

i am most assuredly in the wait and see camp...but there are some very interesting (and in some ways both enlightening and revealing) related popular articles on some of the relevant astrophysical/cosmological problems in the following:

minkel, j r the top-down universe new scientist 10 august 2002 pp 28-31

(also watch for mention of both a "boundary" and an "edge" in the above article...evolutionary big bang theories require a centerless, or at least no speical or unique center, universe with no boundary and no edge...more on this stuff in a later post, hopefully :-)

milgrom, mordechai does dark matter really exist? scientific american august 2002 pp42-50

and the one that discusses robert foot's (i think robert has posted here before as mirror man :-) mirror matter more specifically...

chown, marcus strange attraction new scientist 20 july 2002 pp28-32

(sa new scientist 17 june 2000, p36)

one major problem with your suggestion, mike, is that pioneer 11, which is traveling in the opposite direction out of the solar system is being affected in precisely the same manner...they have tried attributing the "anomolies" to everything imaginable and have eliminated virtually all possibilities with the exception of some unknown force or physics or...mirror matter :-)
