Re: Mirror matter mystery (Alfred)

A very nice find Alfred, its obvious that you believe in the possibility of Mirror matter, by the number of URL's you found relating to it.
I agree with Cougar, not enough evidence as yet.
Will wait and see what the mirror experiments at Cern and Moscow turn up next year.
Regarding the minute force that is tugging at Pioneer 10, I prefer to believe that it has a more natural cause? The only way NASA can detect
a change in speed of P 10 is by the Doppler effect upon its received signal signal, compared with earlier signals.
Although its travelling thru a virtual vacuum, far better than we can produce here on Earth, we
have no way of knowing if it has attracted a thin covering of micro dust, or that a diffuse micro dust cloud is electrostaticly travelling with it.
The effect would be to slow it down imperceptibly.
It might also be slowed by photons hitting it, as it has not yet left the Suns influence, being still within the Suns Electrostatic Solar Wind.
NASA has no way of knowing why it has slowed, and can only report the fact. The timing of a Radio doppler/pulse is very precise at such a far distance, even 'Seti'(Aracebo telescope) has utilised its signal on two occasions.

Interesting 'flat bottomed' crater on Eros. It looks just as though a mixture of ultra fine dust and a liquid has lain there, with the (water?) having evaporated, which would leave just such an effect.
Again I prefer a more natural reasoning, not that i dont disbelieve in Mirror matter. When they have produced some, and constrained it, as they have with Anti-matter, I just might change my mind,...but dont count on it. *^)
