Re: Canibalism, rape of children, tourture..etc (Paul)

"the removal and consumption of hearts of infants, small girls killed and mutilated, people executed alive before the members of their families, and the rape of children."

It's their culture, unchanged for two thousand years and more. They have a natural right to pursue their social and religious beliefs within the borders of their nation without external interference.

More to the point, if their actions were a despised minority view the people would rise up and crush them. Go to New York City, to Harlem, and shout "nigger" as loud as you can. I bet you will be physically discouraged from doing it twice - and it's only a word. Atrocities are *always* consensual - 6 million Jews marching into Hitler's gas chambers without raising a finger in protest. Consider Roman Catholic priests buggering little boys by the documented thousands.

"Belief in magic is thought to have played a role in the alleged cannibalism. Fighters and others often believe that consuming parts of human bodies gives them special powers."

Felled Roman gladiators had their hearts cut out and awarded to the most deserving spectators for consumption. New World indigens practiced human sacrifice on a massive scale and consumed the hearts as part of standard religious practice. Christians do it every Sunday at mass, the blood and the body of Christ. It is standard operating procedure for more than a billion living people.

Where was your righteous indignation when a million Hutus and Tutsies were standing toe-to-toe chopping at each other with machetes? Are we to believe it is more noble to kill somebody at a distance with a gun than to be splattered with his blood as flesh is hacked off his skeleton? Both sides were enthusiastic participants. I can see honor in personal combat, but not in remote murder.

What is your problem, git? Do you think the world will be a better place for everybody wearing a digital watch and worrying about credit card payments? Who died and made you Elvis?
