Dr Robert Foot and Dr Saibal Mitra, of the University of Melbourne, report that close-up observations of the asteroid Eros by the Near-Shoemaker probe indicate it has been splattered by so-called "mirror matter".
Sounds pretty far out. one key question: Where do they report this? If they're skipping the peer review process and reporting directly to the news media, that's a little suspect, particularly for such a weird theory. There are a lot of sensationalistic terms being tossed about in this story....If this stuff only interacts with our universe gravitationally, what's it doing leaving craters on Eros (which is an electromagnetic interaction)?
