Dr Robert Foot and Dr Saibal Mitra, of the University of Melbourne, report that close-up observations of the asteroid Eros by the Near-Shoemaker probe indicate it has been splattered by so-called "mirror matter".

Sounds pretty far out. one key question: Where do they report this? If they're skipping the peer review process and reporting directly to the news media, that's a little suspect, particularly for such a weird theory. There are a lot of sensationalistic terms being tossed about in this story....

If this stuff only interacts with our universe gravitationally, what's it doing leaving craters on Eros (which is an electromagnetic interaction)?
