I will grant you that an absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
But then the very same logic will clearly support the proposition that there may be an invisible purple rhinoceros in your bathtub.
Has there been interstellar travel somewhere in the universe? Almost undoubtedly. Have any of those travellers visited us? Highly unlikely. Why? Because we are totally insignificant. Because there is no reason why anyone, anywhere, would have targeted this solar system in preference to any other.
