Re: Neutrino Factory (Eduardo)

"The accelerator laboratory became a service center with a variety of products. By the late 1980s, Fermilab's sales force advertised to potential customers that the following hot and cold running beams were available: protons, neutrons, pions, kaons, muons, neutrinos, antiprotons, hyperons, polarized protons (all spinning in the same direction), tagged photons (we know their energy), and if you don't see it, ask!" - Leon Lederman, Nobelist and previous director of Fermilab

It will be good to re-check the finding that neutrinos "oscillate" -- change from one type to another -- which they tell me is a sure indication that neutrinos have mass. It's pretty remarkable that they would have mass since they apparently also travel at light speed. The detected neutrinos from supernova 1987arrived here on earth at almost exactly the same time as the light from the explosion. Perhaps those few detected neutrinos didn't oscillate...(?)
