Not attending the earth summit is like saying he is not on planet Earth, perhaps Planet Texas is more like it. Attending would show a sign of respect to the other nations there, even though the views from these nations may be radically different. Respect fosters direct lines of communication giving hope and ultimately some minimum resolve in dealing with Environmental problems. The catch is this, Bush burries his head in his Ranch land, doesn't know first hand the concerns about the worlds Environment, "see no evil cure no evil" becomes his approach. His trade mark, preferring to look ignorant instead of attempting to understand, symbolises a man with his mind already made up, in other words a dictator, the world must listen and help when Bush complains ("you are with me or against me") but not the other way around. Not faulting science, but what is the point in good science, mountains of evidence when there can't be a world wide consensus on the problem because a leader of 5% of the worlds population rather wants to be seen golfing. Your king is responsible for his actions or inactions, and yes 25% of the Greenhouse gases comes from the USA, not being part of any dialogue about this is an act of environmental genocide.
