Recycle it. I remember a guy who used to froth at the mouth whenever I aid the word 'Breeders'. One of those knowalls who claimed breeders would never ever ever make a comeback. Anyone who disagreed with him was ofcourse an idiot. India started building breeder reactors about a year ago.
Recycling waste avoids having to store it and also means we will have abundant energy for thousands of years. Proliferation? That's a security issue. Put the military in charge of it. They've never lost a nuclear warhead.
