Scramjet Finally Flys

The supersonic Scramjet flew yesterday from the Woomera test site in Australia.
Able to fly at 8000 mph since its half the weight of
conventional rockets, since it only carries hydrogen
It aquires the Oxygen for completion of the burn process from the atmosphere....using a large scoop
to "ram in and mix" the thin atmospheric Oxygen with
the Hydrogen it carries.

New York or London to Sydney in 2 hours anyone?

*My first thought:-Lets hope it dos'nt suck in a damaging micro-meteorite, at that speed and height?
