if there are two types of people,

one type that thinks there are only two types of people,
and
one type that thinks there are not only two types of people,

then the type that thinks there are not only two types of people contains those that think there is only one type of people, and those that think there are three types of people, and those that think there are four types of people, and.....

to combine the people in the second group of people to one type only, seems to me to limit possibilities, not to clarify the discussion.
