you mention two things that i agree with and would like to say so.
one: 'scientists have been surprised'.
to me, this is an interesting part of science
that new information is not always exactly what has been expected.two: 'rewrite the science book. (at least it is a book that can be re-writ).
to me, rewriting about science information on the basis of new information, makes eminent sense.your question that
'just because our part of the universe is expanding ever faster away from us...does that mean that the same expansion is happening out at the furthest reaches of the early universe ?
is a question that, to me, would benefit from further discussion from all sides.
