To paraphrase Captain James T. Kirk of the Starship Enterprise, "What does God need with a Universe?" Why does God, omnipotent, omniscient, all everything, need a universe, an imperfect, flawed, unstable platform prone to infestation with carbon-based life-forms that are for the most part pugilistic and predatory?

Are we God's creations, made to fawn on and worship and adore the all powerful Creator, or could it be that we are the Gods themselves?
