I have mixed feelings.
One one hand there is the libertarian that says she should be able to dress any way she wishes.
On the other hand there is the conservative that thinks that it is the school prerogative to define dress standards for its employees and students. And that the point is to teach. Not to advertise one's religion.
In my mind the scarf is roughly equivalent to a crucifix on a chain. A piece of personal clothing that relates to a religious preference. I'd be inclined to ignore it. But only if it did not lead to some other teacher expressing his or her religious obligation by slaughtering a goat in class.
Every act any human can do ... some other human can take to an extreme and ruin for everyone else.
