if I spin a molten sphere of rock in space.
the sphere would form a larger diameter at its
equator also.
if there were no objects in its imediate surroundings it would take a very long time to cool enough to form much of a crust.
if this sphere were rotating around the sun and
I later impacted that sphere with a bb at a high
velocity.
two things might happen there might be a pole shift and there might be an entry and an exit would in the sphere.
