Re: pagan days (Andy™)

and mucho misunderstanding, Beltaine and Samhain are a package deal, you do one, you should do both, since one is beginning and one is end.

Samhain came before All Hallows, All souls, All saints, whatever you want to call it (the Christianized version, after the "snakes were driven from Ireland") after the Christians established authority over it.

The initial celebration of the "holidays" (I quote it because holiday is "holy day" combined and I'm not a Druid or a Celt... other than by blood.) was a festival of sorts. Since all "holidays" have been bastardized beyond recognition, no one will ever be able to know how they were originally celebrated so I like to either have or go to a bonfire when at all possible and grill. Oh, and roasting marshmallows too. Someday I hope to have a group lively enough to dance as well. So far the best I've managed is bonfire jumping.

Why? Because I like celebrating things, and I bet this year the other people in my apartment complex will appreciate it. Oh, and Halloween is just a little too stupid for my liking.

So, in other words, I don't sacrifice cats or eat babies.
