The ethics involved in medicine is in serious question when we begin to create life to save lives.

I assume then that you don't eat? Unless you are one of those evil gun-totin' redneck hunters, edible meat is universally “created” by human intervention. The same goes for vegetables. Plants that grow wild are seasonal and normally in very limited supply. Without our ability to create life in vegetable or animal form we would all be real hungry about now. And the average lifespan would be back in the 20’s where it was when we were all nomads.
