Are you sure it is the lack of red meat and not snails? In addition to wine, the French eat a lot of snails that the rest of the world doesn't. Maybe it is truffles that give them their advantage. Or maybe they don't get as much heart disease because they just snub their noses at American TV which is a known stress producer.

Before we blame (or credit) anything, maybe we should do a little research? Isn't that what science is about? The article on wine tried to find a physical reason rather than just speculation of a link to a popular suspected villain.
