Hope I'm not labouring the point, but truth must have an immediancy, it must be true right now. It isn't about living forever, or even for tomorrow, but living right now that is important. If we obeyed every rule for perfect living it would occupy so much time that there would be little room for anything else, except to exist. That's not living, rocks exist. The scientific statement (if there is one) would be that truth changes over time and circumstance so we should live by the truth that is now. That might mean having that burger.
