Is Science is in Danger of shooting itself in the Foot?

I say that because of a number of New Scientific Theorys that have appeared in print recently.
They appear so unreasonable in overturning todays Scientific theorys regarding the makeup of our Universe, that even the scientists have split into
two camps.
Im talking about- "Our Universe may Exists inside a Black Hole" and "There was No Big Bang" just continuous creation for all Eternity.
*The implications of the first, means -matter from our/a universe falls into black holes,...falls into black holes,..falls into.... Seems to bring up more impossible questions.
As for the continuous creation theory ,first put forward by Gold 40 yrs ago. I thought that was long dead and buried, with regard to the ansitropic -same-where-ever-you-look-universe, plus the temp left over from the B8ig bang, which has satisfied all the theorys to date...until now?

I feel these very broad theorys that overturn the status quo, do science no favours. Maybe even play into the hands of the Creationists
Some might call it progress, but I am of the opinion that Science is not Science until an idea is proven, absolutely.
