Falling is an anthropomorphic concept that has no basis in physical reality. Drop the word from any discussion of gravity.
Gravity induces changes in the structure of space-time. Nothing more, nothing less. Objects within a gravitational field (everything) follow straight paths through curved space.
Might as well deal with it as it is as any other description just causes even more confusion.
