You wanna help? OK, rather than weep and gnash your teeth, try this.
Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world. Almost half of its population lives below the (politically established) poverty line. Agriculture is the mainstay of the economy, providing a livelihood for over 80% of the population. Lessee. What can we do that is beneficial to their way of life - agriculture? Hey - here's an idea! We could increase the production of greenhouse gases thus warming the earth slightly and affording them a somewhat longer growing season (and IMO stabilize the chaotic climate a bit). That might help. Additionally, you could write a letter to King Gyanendar (I think he's still king - might be dead by now) or PM Koirala-Gyanendra (assuming he's still alive - don't really know) and encourage them to build more dams for hydroelectric production. YOu might even consider visiting the "region". I hear it's quite beautiful (but don't drink the water)
