I agree with Bobba. This is generally trading one set of environmental problems for another. It sounds great to say that the hydrogen burns to form only water (non-polluting!!), but you have to stop and think about where all this hydrogen is coming from. Well, it must come from water, right? But, to separate the hydrogen from the oxygen uses up at least as much energy as you will get from burning the hydrogen later. THAT energy has to come from somewhere, itself. It could come from burning more hydrogen (how idiotic), but, more likely it will come from any one of the many conventional energy sources we have... like burning fossil fuels.
