you are welcome for being set straight that this is a science column. i write that frequently when posters tend to get into the kind of posts that are usually confined to what is found in unsolicited e-mail.
i didn't realize that your interest in another topic besides science was your focus. your comments seemed to be the kind that are usually reported by battered and abused spouses.
in reference to dna sequences, i used the analogy of a simple game because it seemed to be a clear parallel. perhaps i could have mentioned a similarity of the dna sequence to three dimensional chess.
