I decided how I knew Australia existed, having never seen it, because of the cross references, Home and Away and Baywatch and someone comming back having gone there. He could have been lying but the films kept pouring in. If the Russians stole the Moon Rover and the Americans were trying to get it back, then nearly everybody would believe. Cross references convince us more than straight pronouncements.
