Does that mean surrendering our understanding of the world as we have known it this far. When other mysteries that have confounded people in the past, have being conquered. Quantum mechanics works, just like the pull of gravity works, but neither is an understanding of what is going on. Newton simply said he offered no explanation, just that this is what is happening, he didn't say he knew why or that it would never be known.
