I have had a couple of good experiences with that ... speculating on physical reality only to find my speculations alluded to years later in physics papers. The latest being some work being done related to the fact that three dimensional reality can be duplicated in a two dimensional hologram.
But thinking that differently leads to headaches. Something I often observe in my students at the U who have returned to education after a long hiatus.
