I agree with you regarding the fresh looking gullys, and the "billions of years ago" remark
Looking at the fresh looking gullys from another angle. "There are some quite strong winds on Mars that have been seen to form dust vortexes.
I dont think it would take too long before the finest gullys lost their delicate appearance, being covered by the sandy dust?
Although I realise this is difficult to check visually, due to the limitation of the Satellite camera.
