A mystery marine animal that has invaded Whangamata Harbour could threaten New Zealand's aquaculture industry......The Coromandel Marine Farmers Association president, Gilbert James, said the animal might just be a "feral sponge" which had developed oddly within the unnatural harbour environment...
a feral sponge... I have to write that down. :-)
Seriously though, isn't this neat? It's a mutation that turned out to be benificial, makes me wonder how quickly it'll spread if it's not controlled.
