A question about planet motion

(159.134.245.217)Because the solar system is moving in a definite direction relative to the distance stars, and apparently at a higher speed that any of the relative speeds between the planets in our solar system, can I take it that planets don't really move back against this motion to orbit, and that they travel in a wave motion to orbit each other. e.g. Does the sun rather than draging the earth back towards it, catch up and pass it out. Just checking if I understand this right.
