For example: Let's temporarily call it a "stector". (Like it?) Radio waves have the same "stector" as x-rays - - field intensity. Sounds waves, however, have a different stector - - fluid pressure. Different sound waves might have a different "departure from the average", depending on the loudness, but they ALL have the same stector. Now, what is the REAL word for a stector. There MUST be one.
