I don't know sparrow but if i had to guess, id say the talent to read and write are not so much innate as learned - but the ability to learn things such as these is innate. Remember also that as we take the time to learn to read and write, we are not taking the time to learn those things we used to learn before reading and writing were taught.

What does that last sentence mean?

I have no idea but it seemed quite revolutionary when I wrote it. I would go ahead and delete it now but I’ve already posted this message. :-)
