The two effects are part of the same ideal. You can't keep one and throw away the other. They are both part of the same measurements. If the pendulum takes longer to finish each stroke. The electrons take longer to get to where they would have been had the object not been moving a half the speed of light. It must effect the structure of the rock. The electron supply a possibility of spreading this change in other directions.
