It's wrong to waste human effort for no reason. More wrong than living for today. The tribes of old continually made sacrifices to the mountains, sometimes their best food, maybe people. Do we continue to act the same. Maybe I'll be proved wrong but I'll at least have enjoyed what is today, not sacrificed it for a tomorrow that might never come. If we tie outselves up completely with the security of the future, we'll have no energy left to search for new ideas today, the very ones that might save tomorrow.
