Seems to me nothing in space travels in a stright line, the earth, moon, everything we know seems to travel in curves or orbits, could be relative. When a ball is thrown it travels in a curve towards the ground, so assume the rocks would travel in curves also, is a curve the fastest, easiest path throught space, is the curve caused by gravity or the speed of the object.
