Re: What's love (epigenetics) got to do with it .. ? (Eudaemonic Pie)

I've always wondered about handedness. Ambidextrity runs in my family. Many animals show some innate handedness, preference for one side or another when reaching for things, striding out, etc. On occasion I will make a character in one of my novels deliberately either left-handed or ambidextrous as an added dimension... or problem. My question is sincere.

Epigenesis? Well, it makes a lot more sense to me than preformation. Stare as I will, I can't seem to make those 26 chromosomes come out looking like body parts. No way, no how.

I've always kind of gone along with what one of my professors said one time. The organism is DNA's way of making more DNA. Seems as likely an explanation as any.

Q'est q'e c'est "McKeown"? I come from no equivalent term. I'm a very old horse in this barn. If it didn't use a microscope of some kind, I probably don't know it.

Love is for those who dare. It's only true in fairy tales and other people's lives. I'm not a believer. I've stuck my finger in the pot and been burned enough. You live with a loaded gun as your best pal for over a decade and see what your opinion is of former relatives. I'm still struggling to achieve a working knowledge of the concept of friendship. That's the highest degree of complexity I'm able to manage with what neurons I have left.

If my deck read, ".. adenine-guanine, cytosine-thymine" my DNA would be very ripply indeed. Maybe you better check a textbook or two when you get home from your holidays in New England. "chocolatine-ovaltine" Hmm. Now that I find interesting. I like best the deck that reads "Hershey's Milk Chocolate, Milk Chocolate with Almonds, Special Dark Chocolate, Symphony..."

Of course, I enjoy the deck that says "Magic: The Gathering" on the back, as well. Then there's the one with the Knights, Queens, Kings and Pages, too, but, most people don't hang with that.

But THE Deck. That one is quite a few cards short. No hearts, few high cards, no strong leads, few options. It's likely a losing hand. But I play it like I had good sense, and hope for the best. If I ever lose hope, it WILL be a losing hand. But there must be a way out of this bog. I'm tired of being damp and kissing frogs. You can't find what you're not looking for. If you're lucky you can outrun it, though. Especially if you get enough caffeine in you.
