It's already known (more or less - there are always going to be other areas to study) how good cells stay healthy (which is essentially basic cell division and the 'sos repair genes' that fix damaged DNA, or apoptosis when a cell is too damaged to be repaired).
The problems lie in the fact that there are so many places where things can go wrong. This may be only one of the reasons for the onset of different forms of gastrointestinal cancer.
Still newsworthy though -good find.
