Scientists have a new perpetrator in the scenario of mass extinctions. Could bacteria be at fault? Read the article.

Sounds like the dinosaurs flatulated themselves into extinction. What a way to go. Between the bacteria in their gut and the Methanosarcina in the mud they didn't stand much of a chance. Let's hope we don't suffer the same fate.

No fear of that. If Methanosarcina start to proliferate some idiot will nuke them and blow us all into extinction.
