All diseases, and I mean ALL, are becoming more common and infecting more people than ever before. In spite of modern medical practise.
The reason is there is a huge amount of contact and mixing of peoples on this Earth than ever before. Plus a lot less chance of removing the many infectious contacts.
And dont forget the animals, we are in greater contact with animals, as we encroach upon their habitats, allowing cross transmission of new types of infectious diseases.
