On the discovery channel I saw a documentary about the power of the human brain. One part was about a boy who cured himself of a brain tumour by imagining it as a giant enemy spaceship and destroying it with his own spaceships over a long period of time. If this were true, it would mean that the human brain is incredibly powerful because he did not consciously know how the tumour was being destroyed on a cellular level which means that his brain figured out a way to do this on it's own. The boy had only an average education on the subject of cells and antibodies, yet his brain managed to create the right type of antibody. How is this possible?

Coincidence or probability. Take your pick. Some people go into remission for no apparent reason. Just because the boy imagined this stuff doesn't mean his imaginings had anything to do with his remission.

Is there a point to this idiocy?

1. How and by who was the tumor diagnosed?

2. Who, precisely, sat back applying no medical treatment while this imbecile treated himself? The physicians, parents, and government were wholly irresponsible? Didn't give a damn?

3. How was the "cure" verified?

4. Tumors, of all types, can go into spontaneous remission. This is not medical news.

Well no doubt the Discovery Channel made money from the advertisers. And the advertisers advertised because people like you watched the program. But from what you've posted I see nothing more interesting than Paris Hilton's latest fabricated escapade.

Buncha crap. Fingerprint your index finger. Meditate upon changing the pattern by whatever internal means. Get back to us when you have a positive result.

Surely if a nasty cancerous tumor can be destroyed you in turn can alter a few milligrams of tissue over sub-millimeter spacings.

Try this one out. The next time you have a head ache, a slight cramp or a mild pain - concentrate on relieving it. Don't picture the cavalry coming over the hill and attacking the discomfort just concentrate on the pain and tell your brain to make it go away. Order your brain to initiate the proper procedure to alleviate the problem.
It's either going to work for you or not.

Not many postings get such a unanimous response. You deserve some credit Rob for bringing out the work force. FF, Uncle Al and Morgan summed it up with idiocy, crap and coincidence and, as the idea was presented, in summary, they have a good point. OTOH some people are prone to tumors and/or cysts and the cause can be accentuated by diet, their genes or who knows what. It may be the boy was concentrating so hard on the tumor he stopped eating the fast food garbage that was poisoning his system and the tumor faded away for a very logical reason. On a popular cooking show they start out with a quote by some sort of sage that says ?Tell me what you eat and I will tell you what you are?, or some such. I don?t think it makes any sense but it does warn us that your food can be a source of bad health, as well as for the good.
