Back in 1993 Rudolf Gatenbrink, designed and built a robot which travelled up a steep 8" X 8" shaft deep within the Cheops Pyramid, only to be
stopped by a limestone door, replete with two copper handles at the top.
Now a new Robot, designed by Singapore Scientists
is to be allowed to climb the steep narrow shaft up to the 'door', drill thru it, and insert a fibre optic probe in a bid to see what this secret chamber holds.

Cool find, Mike. I hope there is more success with this expedition than the 2002 experiment!

The notion that, potentially, magnificant treasures lie buried within these awe-inspiring structures is alluring.

As I recall a hole was drilled in the "door" and a fiber optic tool inserted to show what looked to me like a rock but which they called another "door". Depth was not discussed but the televison depiction would cause me to guess it was about 6 to 8 inches behind the first "door".
The only apparent justification for calling it a door was the presence of two metal (copper?) clips on it. Tjere is no doubt in my mind that there are other rooms in the GP. Where are they?
