the below image is from the April, 1990 eruption.

the two webcam images are current.

its still dark there now , but have a look at daybreak.

the hut image above is powered by battery , and it might need replacement , or recharging , or something more reliable
because when volcanoes erupt the cameras frequency is increased
and the sun is blotted out by ash.

Isnt this palin's state?
She could probably just look out her window and see what
we would like to see , if the camera was working !
isnt this 2009?

Im sure they can redirect some funds for this type of thing
even though it might take funding away from any current ANWR oil drilling scheme's.

Alaska's Mt. Redoubt volcano erupts a sixth time, sending ash plume 60,000 feet high

There's no doubt: Alaska's Mt. Redoubt has lost its temper--again.

The volcano this evening--after a daylong period of relative calm in the wake of a series
of explosions beginning late Sunday night--blew its top for a sixth time, sending a plume
of ash and steam 60,000 feet skyward.

a remark from a concerned citizen , somewhere.

dang i cant believe that scirntists wernt smart enought 2 expect this natural disaster occurance and warn peouple

dang ! the problem probably resides in budget cuts , not scientist ( scirntist ) , if this were a oil field the
electronic equipment would cost millions and would be excessively redundant ,unlike the HUT camera above
that needs the AA battery replaced, so that someone can pull the string and snap a picture.

in new york the residents were not informed of the existing dangers of breathing in the dust from the 911 incident.

and many developed respiratory problems , many died from these problems , you can listen to what the authorities tell you
but please use common sence in your determination of the safety involved.

if you live anywhere in the vicinity of this volcano
you might want to should (learn the contents) of the below link.

http://volcanoes.usgs.gov/ash/

especialy this page.

a wet cloth will make a good air filter for the ash
if you need to be outside.

dont go outside if you dont need to.

dont breath the ash.

The HUT camera has been repaired , and is delivering excelent
pictures of the north face.
which is the area that lava will flow if lava flows , unless an
eruption blows off the southern face , or the southern face collapses from its own weight.

thanks to all involved for fixing the camera.

Check it out !

on March 27 apx 4 - 7 UTC , Mars , the Moon , and the Earth were aligned with the Sun...

on March 27 apx 4 - 7 UTC is when the earthquakes were recorded...at Mt Redoubt.

Mars has pretty much moved away from the alignment now so
maybe the mountain is going to settle back down again!
without another eruption...
maybe not.

just dont go climbing it or take any chances.

I found the alignment in the Microsoft Worldwide Telescope that is a free downloadable application , its a really neat program
and can be used to track a real telescope , or if you can tinker good a sun tracker for a solar collector or furnace.

you can download your copy here...
http://www.worldwidetelescope.org/Home.aspx

I found the Earthquake data in Google Earth with the realtime Earth quake kmz

you can download your kmz here...
http://services.google.com/earth/kmz/realtime_earthquakes_n.kmz

I tried your first link, and got to the webpage, but could not link up any tours because I don't have a browser that recognizes aspx file format. I tried to go to your second link, and my browser tried to open it in my word processor, but it failed as it does not recognize .kmz file types. Could somebody let me know if they have the same problems, or if they worked it out somehow?

Heres the direct link for the download.

http://content.worldwidetelescope.org/solstice/wwtsetup.msi

if your browser will not download from a direct link then you
can use a download manager such as Free Download Manager
at the below link.

http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/download.htm

if your browser does not recognize aspx then you might check
to see if there is a plugin that can be added to your browser.

if that doesnt work then I can rename the file as a .txt file and upload the file to the image upload section of SAGG then you can download the .txt file and rename it as a .msi file and it will work to install on your windows OS , I never have had a Mac and probably never will , I dont like the inconviencies that accompany Mac ownership , so if you use a Mac you might consider getting a real OS. LOL

I have noticed that you frequently have problems with links
maybe you should buy a DELL on EBAY they normaly come with a windows OS and the computers with a OS are usually less than the OS alone would be.

I don't frequently have trouble with links. I just follow every link that is posted, to make sure it works. That's part of my job. I own a Dell, by the way, and it has Windows XP. It doesn't give me too much trouble with links. Just now and then it comes across a link that doesn't open or one that wants a fee to read the story it has.

I really like Dell , and XP , aspx is microsoft active server pages active X.

Quote:
Server-generated Web page based on ActiveX scripting that uses the Microsoft ASP.NET framework; ASP code is first processed on the Web server and the resulting HTML code is sent to the user's Web browser.

Used by Web pages with URLs ending in ".aspx."

you might have activeX content dissabled in your browser.

see if you can browse to this page.

http://www.fileinfo.com/extension/aspx

if you are using mozilla / firefox there seems to be problems
with opening the aspx pages on the web.

try updating your .net at microsoft update.

http://update.microsoft.com

you should get the latest version of IE in the update if you are
not already using it.

one program I can easily recommend is microsoft one care , I have
used it for years and have had NO PROBLEMS AT ALL.

you might be having clutter problems or registry problems , you
can download the free ccleaner and this will do a quick fix to most issues.

here is the webicorder of Mt Redoubt
so that those following this event can have a sence of its
disposition , currently the Avaition Code is ORANGE or WATCH.

this is the NCT seismic station shown in the location map above in the previous reply.

Station NCT is located to the northwest of Redoubt's summit.

I presume the blobby bits are activity but what are those sinister red bits? They look horrible and I'm hoping they are just times or something! How serious is this? It does not make the news at all here.

Im not sure what the red indicates , but I have noticed that most of the (LARGE) blue seismic activity indicators occur around 2 a.m. !!

the moon perhaps?
