Gerontology. The word comes from the Greek word, 'gerontos', meaning old man + logy--meaning the study (science) of aging of all adults.

Since the moment of birth we all begin the process of growing older, gerontology is of special interest to all people. Jokingly, I often say to children old enough to get the joke: "I was once five, like you. But you were never my age, were you?" It always get a smile or even a laugh .

I include even those who happen to be the political, economic, educational and social leaders who happen to be well-off and live in a modern, industrial and densely populated part of the world--in Europe, Asia, the Americas, wherever--with aging populations and low birth rates.

Stay tuned! Be sure and participate with your comments and questions.
