How Planets Form: 'It's a Mess Out There'

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=st...utthere&e=5

"Based on the violent past of our own solar system, many astronomers had assumed planet formation was a chaotic process involving a lot of smash-ups. The new observations of 266 stars confirm that view and provide new details about just how wild things are."

And you thought dust bunnies were tame. smile

Well, let conjecture on how planets are formed----------we now know more about the quantum world. We now know electricity surges down the spiral arms of the galaxy. We have science tell us that suns that they had been monitoring and expecting to go nova winked out without a nod to established science. Kepler informs us of planets everywhere, and I expect water to be everywhere also. Science has been chasing energy in the quantum world (Landau's second sound and Feynmann's 'ghost of a vortex' which since there is no latency (heat) in the quantum world must mean ZPE. Maybe there are more surprises. Would you be surprised to find that matter condenses in the presence of energy, pressure, magnetism and vibration?
