Here's a great little article that tells you how to find the speed of light using a microwave oven a bar of chocolate.

A very unique application using 'table top science' to find the standing wave distance.

Incidentally, one is more likely to find a fixed standing wave in the center of your Microwave.
So if you want your food to cook more evenly, and a little quicker, always place your food to one-side of the turntable. wink
