I never trust anything from the Daily Mail; but I was interested to read this.

I thought that polar jets did not come from inside the event horizon. However, this article seems to suggest that polar jets originate inside the event horizon.

I am not sure I am interpreting the following quote correctly. Is this saying that the “depth” of the event horizon; i.e. on a radial line from the centre; is 279 million miles, and that the polar jets traverse this?

“The flashes of radiation seemed to move 279 million miles across the event horizon in just 4.8 minutes."
