A story on Phys.Org. US advises deleting QuickTime from Windows computers

Apple has quit providing updates for QuickTime and there are vulnerabilities that could be exploited. Everybody with a Windows computer should uninstall it.

To uninstall it go to "Control Panel" click on "Programs/ uninstall a program". When the window opens scroll down to QuickTime and select it. Then click on the "Uninstall" button at the top of the window.

I dont think I have quicktime on my microsofts computer.
I tried to look for it but it keeps telling me that I dont
have permission to do that.

I made the mistake of upgrading to windows 10 and I think that
when I rolled back the os to win 7 the windows 10 os didnt want me
to do that either so it just made it look as if I did something I
wanted to do.

there are loads of new folders and applications in my windows 7
now that were not there before and the os is being a constant biatch
about everything I try to delete.

in a few years there may be a fix if someone in the microsoft
community still has a unaffected windows os to develop a fix so that microsoft can release it through windows update if that still works
... mine stopped working after the rollback.

took me several weeks to find the problem but Im not sure what
it was... still dont have a task manager though and that sort
of bothers me.

microsoft should provide a clean install of win 7 for those who
upgraded to win 10 and decided not to have their every button press
monitored and recorded in the cloud.

computers dont come with the os install disk anymore only
preloaded branded oem os installs is what you get and the
win 7 that microsoft does offer will not install with the
product key that can be found on your computer because each
brand of computer has its own desiginated product key that it
uses to install thousands of os's probably volume priced licenses
and those licenses will not work with what microsoft has made available.

I would call them and complain but the phone call would cost several
hundred dollars to talk to someone on the support team.

linux could be the fix that is truly needed.
