"Basking sharks are cannier hunters than previously thought, a report in the Journal of Animal Ecology has claimed."

Why do the biggest creatures eat the smallest stuff? wink

"Although it might seem intuitive that sharks would follow their prey, it has never been observed before. In fact, very little is known about these mammoth predators at all."

The two biggest sharks (the whale shark and the basking shark) eat tiny plants and animals, plankton. That is an odd expression of evolution, for two seemingly menacing creatures.

Unfortunately the average person is more likely to drown than to even SEE a shark, let alone be attacked by one. I for one embrace the majesty of these elegant creatures.
Sincerely,
