hmmm, I wonder if it is possible that everything is a product of only two opposing forces that when acting on particles can give all the other forces we know of.

Reason for thinking this = in maths you can only add or subtract. Multiplication is the same as adding a set number of times, and division is just the inverse of multiplication.

If you think this is not well thought out - it isn't. smile

I think there is little doubt that the universe is Boolean. Ones and zeros. We just have yet to figure out how to arrange them.

I thought that quantum theory was showing us that the universe is not Boolean.

Things are not always simply true or false. I thought we were seeing the universe can work on principles of 'Is-And' instead of just the classical view of 'Is-Or'.

Wave/particle duality, Schrodinger's cat and its superposition of states.

Doesn't quantum indeterminacy lead us to a non-Boolean view of reality?

Ah, after reading the question again, I may have misunderstood it.

Never mind - won't delete my response - I'll leave my idiocy for all to see.

Quantum theory says nothing about the universe being Boolean: I don't think any theory does. We are still operating in QM and GR at a much higher level.

But ultimately, when we have a new theory that reconciles the macro and the micro, and we continue our search to deeper levels, I've little doubt we will end up with 1s and 0s.

What do you mean by 1s and 0s?
